general rad case 3

h/o HEADACHE

multinodular vacuoalating and neuronal tumor MVNT MRI T2 FLAIR

Findings:

  • Axial T2 and FLAIR images show multiple clustered hyperintense foci ('bubbles') in right parietal subcortical white matter
  • Post contrast images (not shown) depicted no enhancement within these foci. The foci did not show diffusion restriction on DWI (not shown).

Diagnosis:

Multinodular and vacuolating neuronal tumor (MVNT)

Discussion:

  • First described in 2013, MVNTs are considered a type of glioneuronal and neuronal tumors.
  • Most lesions are asymptomatic, and some may be associated with epilepsy.
